We are deeply proud to announce the launch of the League of Fire Hall of Fame

9 January 2026 - Written By

Since founding League of Fire in 2019, the organisation has grown into a global sport with nearly seven years of history. With that foundation firmly in place, we believe this is the right moment to introduce a Hall of Fame – one that recognises those whose dedication, vision, and commitment have helped shape League of Fire into what it is today.

The League of Fire Hall of Fame honours extraordinary individuals from across our global community, celebrating long-term involvement, passion, and meaningful impact. Each year, five individuals will be inducted, with the primary eligibility requirement being a minimum of five years of involvement with League of Fire, either as a competitor, producer, organiser, contributor, or supporter.

Selections will be based on a combination of achievements and contributions, including but not limited to:
✨ Length and consistency of involvement with League of Fire
✨ Competitive achievements, including League of Fire titles and records
✨ Positive impact on the growth and evolution of League of Fire
✨ Bringing people together within the global spicy League of Fire community
✨ Travelling to and supporting League of Fire contests and festivals around the world
✨ Ongoing League of Fire community building, encouragement, and leadership

To honour these exceptional individuals, each Hall of Fame inductee will receive:
📜 An official framed Hall of Fame certificate
💍 A bespoke League of Fire Hall of Fame ring

This Hall of Fame is about legacy – recognising those who have gone above and beyond, and whose influence will never be forgotten.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are honoured to reveal the very first inductee into the League of Fire Hall of Fame:

Clint Meyer

When speaking of passion, loyalty, and unwavering belief in competitive chilli eating, few names command the respect and admiration of Clint Meyer of Fire Dragon Chillies.

As the Official League of Fire Ambassador for New Zealand, Clint has been instrumental in establishing and expanding LOF’s presence across Oceania. Through tireless dedication, he has helped discover, develop, and showcase talent throughout the region, ensuring Oceania stands proudly on the global League of Fire stage.

Clint has been at the heart of competitive chilli eating in New Zealand for well over a decade. He has run the New Zealand Chilli Eating Championships since 2011 and has organised the League of Fire Oceania Title Belt Match every year since 2021, playing a pivotal role in shaping the Southern Hemisphere’s competitive landscape.

His leadership has also brought some of League of Fire’s most iconic events to life, including Tussle On The Tyne (2019), Auckland Armageddon (2020), and Lords of the Stings (2023) – events that have become etched into LOF history.

Beyond the arena, Clint is the driving force behind the much-loved NZ Hot Sauce Festival, a cornerstone event that brings together chilli fans, sauce makers, and competitors from across the country and beyond. And while he is a visionary organiser and ambassador, Clint has never been afraid to step into the fire himself, taking on League of Fire challenges and leading by example with courage and conviction.

  • A leader.
  • A creator.
  • A competitor.
  • A true cornerstone of the League of Fire family.

Clint Meyer, thank you for everything you have given to this sport and League of Fire. Your dedication has shaped a region and your passion has strengthened our global community. You were absolutely pivotal in helping establish LOF as a truly global enterprise, your impact is woven into its foundation, and your legacy will never be forgotten and shall now be forever immortalised in the League of Fire Hall of Fame (LOFHOF)!
