Privacy & Cookies Policy

**Last updated: 13 August 2026**

  1. Overview

League of Fire (“LOF”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect your personal information when you use the League of Fire website and the League of Fire app (together, the “Service”).

This policy applies to all League of Fire users worldwide. Where data protection laws specific to your region apply — for example the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we have set out how those rights apply to you in Section 10.

Where a section of this policy refers specifically to “the App” or “the website”, that section applies only to that platform. All other sections apply to both. This single policy is published at leagueoffire.com/privacy and the URL for this page can be used wherever a Privacy Policy URL is required, including in App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

  1. Who We Are

The League of Fire Service is owned and operated by SWELTER Productions Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom.

The League of Fire app are developed and published on behalf of SWELTER Productions Ltd by an appointed development and publishing partner, acting as our service provider.

Contact details for privacy queries and general enquiries are provided in Section 13.

  1. Age Requirement

The Service is intended for use by persons aged 18 and over. By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We collect your date of birth during registration solely to verify that you meet this age requirement.

If we become aware that we have collected personal data from someone under the age of 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information and, where applicable, remove or restrict the associated account.

  1. Information We Collect

4.1 Information You Give Us

Account details

  • First and last name, nickname, email address, country, date of birth (used only to confirm you are 18 or over), and password
  • Profile picture and any additional profile information you choose to add, such as a bio, location and social handles
  • Role information — athlete, fan, producer or organiser

Social login

If you sign in using Google, Facebook or Apple, we receive a unique account identifier and your name, email address and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive your social media password. The information we receive is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy as well as this policy.

Content you create

  • Posts, comments, reactions and reviews you publish on the Service
  • Challenge submissions, including photos and links to videos hosted on YouTube or Facebook
  • Support messages, feedback, reports and any organiser, producer or sponsorship applications

4.2 Information We Collect Automatically

Technical and usage data

  • IP address, device type, operating system and browser type
  • App version and crash or performance diagnostics, collected via Google Firebase Crash Analytics
  • Usage data such as pages or screens viewed, features used and session length

We use Firebase Crash Analytics, a service provided by Google, to help us identify and fix technical issues within the App. Firebase may collect device information, crash logs and related diagnostic data for this purpose. You can find Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Push notification tokens (App only)

With your permission, we collect a device token to enable us to send you push notifications. You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Location information (App only)

We collect your device’s location only at the specific moment you actively choose to check in at a live League of Fire event through the App.

  • What we collect: your approximate or precise location at the time you tap to check in
  • When we collect it: only at the moment you actively choose to check in, never in the background and never at any other time
  • Why we collect it: to confirm your attendance at the event
  • Your control: you grant location access through your device permissions and can withdraw it at any time in your device settings. If location access is not granted, you will not be able to use the check-in feature, but can continue using all other parts of the Service

We do not use location data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Camera and photo library (App only)

The App may request access to your device’s camera and photo library so you can capture or upload photos, for example for your profile picture or community posts. The App does not record video directly — any video submissions are uploaded from your device’s existing photo or video library as links to YouTube or Facebook.

Communications

Information you provide when you contact us, submit a support request or subscribe to email updates or newsletters.

  1. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and manage your account, verify you are 18 or over, and personalise your experience
  • Operate and maintain the Service, including feeds, community features and challenge submissions
  • Send service-related communications and, where you have opted in, push notifications and marketing communications
  • Moderate content, handle reports, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use
  • Analyse and improve the performance and security of the Service
  • Comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations

Where required by law, for example in the UK and EU, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

  1. Information That Is Public

League of Fire is a community platform and some information is visible to other users by design. The following information is publicly visible:

  • Your public profile including your name or nickname, country, profile picture and any public bio or social handles you choose to add
  • Posts, reviews and comments you publish on the Service

Please do not post or include in your profile anything you would not want to be publicly visible.

  1. How We Share Your Information

We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • With other users — the public information described in Section 6
  • With service providers who help us operate the Service, under contracts that require them to protect your data, including our app development partner our app development and publishing partner, cloud hosting and media storage providers, email delivery services, push notification delivery services (Apple, Google and Expo), and analytics providers
  • For legal and safety reasons — where we are required to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests from authorities, or protect the rights, property or safety of League of Fire, our users or the public
  • In a business transfer — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of business assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections

Each service provider is given access only to the information necessary for them to perform their function and is required to keep it confidential.

  1. International Data Transfers

League of Fire is used by people around the world, and your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your home country, including in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, the United States and South Africa.

Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection, including the use of standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards recognised under applicable data protection law.

  1. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

When you delete your account (see Section 11), we remove or anonymise your personal information in accordance with the process described there.

  1. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted passwords, access controls, secure hosting and regular security monitoring.

While we work hard to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Where a data breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

  1. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and your associated personal data at any time.

How to delete your account

  • In the app: go to your Profile — Settings — Delete Account and confirm
  • By email: send a request from your registered email address to support@leagueoffire.io with the subject “Delete my account” and we will process it

The 30 day grace period

When you delete your account it is hidden immediately. You have 30 days to change your mind, signing back in during that period restores everything exactly as it was.

What we delete after 30 days

After 30 days we permanently delete your personal data, including:

  • Email address, password and date of birth
  • Phone number where provided
  • Profile picture
  • Social login connections (Google, Facebook or Apple)
  • Your likes, follows and reports

After this point your account cannot be recovered.

What we keep

We retain your competition record, including your name, results, submissions, posts, comments, points and badges, because these form part of the leaderboards and rankings that other users are ranked on. Removing them would alter the standing of every other user. The person is erased; the results stay.

If you would like your name removed or anonymised from your retained competition record, contact us at support@leagueoffire.io and we will work with you to find an appropriate arrangement.

Social login deletion

If you signed up using Google, Facebook or Apple, deleting your League of Fire account also removes the information we received from that provider. It does not delete your Google, Facebook or Apple account itself.

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • The right to access the personal information we hold about you
  • The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • The right to request deletion of your information, where legally permissible
