I fell into competitive chilli eating on accident by attending my first chilli eating comp on a promise of "free beer and a feed, all you have to do is eat chilli". Little did I realise the beer was a tempter to get you to forfeit and the food was littered with superhot chilli flakes and seeds. I won that comp and went on to win the NZ chilli eating champs in 2015. I was also the first in NZ to win the champs twice as I took out the title in 2016, 2017 was not my best year as I dropped my guard and went to the finals with little to no training, I had a pretty close comeback in 2018 when I came 2nd after round 22 and 2hrs 20mins of eating chillies. I plan to train for the 2020 final.
